Please join us for our next monthly neighborhood meeting! We’re “going rogue” in July — we’ll be moving our meeting up a couple of days to Saturday, July 15, so that we can have a family-friendly fun night out in the park in conjunction with the Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board’s “Rogue One” Movie in the Park.
Grab your picnic blanket and/or lawn chairs, and head out to the park starting at 7 p.m. for a “dot-mocracy” vote for your favorite Art Wrap. We’re planning to outfit one unsightly, strategically placed utility box (hopefully more to come later) at a gateway in our neighborhood to clean up blight and prevent graffiti .. . and make our neighborhood look top-notch. Please come and vote for your favorite “wrap.” While you’re there, visit with our board members about what WPCiA does, consider running for a seat on the board, find out how you can have a voice in your community, enjoy ice cream on us, plus other treats, movie snacks, bonfire, kids activities, bounce house and more, courtesy of the park. Then see if you can win the Rogue One Star Wars Costume Contest. We’ll have a brief and informal Neighborhood Meeting at about 8 p.m., followed by the movie at dusk.
The Windom Park Citizens in Action portion of the evening takes place ran or shine. In case of rain, we’ll be in the Windom Park Recreation Center, 2251 Hayes St. NE, with ice cream, voting on art, and the brief neighborhood meeting/announcements and Open Forum.
WPCiA meetings are held at accessible locations. Please contact us at least seven business days in advance to request other accommodations.
