Join Us For the June Neighborhood Meeting – One Week Early!

Please join your neighbors Tuesday, June 12, for our monthly Windom Park Neighborhood Meeting. Please note the meeting is one week earlier than usual due to the annual NE Parade on our regular meeting date of June 19.

The meeting, which begins at 7 p.m. at the Windom Park Recreation Center (2251 Hayes St. NE, Minneapolis), will feature these agenda items:

  • The Minneapolis Comprehensive Plan 2040* and What it Means to You: City Council Member Kevin Reich will give a presentation on what’s in the draft, followed by Q and A. Will also include neighborhood construction updates.
  • Great Northern Greenway status report
  • Update on the Northeast Investment Co-op
  • Is solar power for you?

Time permitting, we reserve a spot on each month’s meeting agenda for Open Forum — where residents and neighborhood business owners can bring forward issues, concerns, and announcements pertinent to our community.

Free childcare is supervised by park staff. Free parking in lot and on adjacent streets. The meeting takes place in an accessible location and is open to all. Please contact us seven business days in advance to request other meeting accommodations.

* This plan will direct the city’s transportation, housing, land use and built form, economic competitiveness, environmental systems, heritage preservation, public health, public services and facilities, technology and innovation, arts and culture, and parks and open space for many years to come. Your input is needed! Deadline to comment on the proposed Comprehensive Plan is July 22, 2018. See for details. We also ask that you tell the city, as part of this process, that you want to see the Small Area Plan created by the hard work of your own Windom Park neighbor-volunteers through many community meetings incorporated into this Comprehensive Plan and not ignored by city staff. See the WPCiA web site at for details.
